Hurricane Ike

We never thought in a million years that remnants of a hurricane could hit Ohio, let alone come in with full force winds. On Sunday September 14th we were celebrating Emily's 10th birthday with Scott's family. We just started eating dinner and the power went out. The winds were strong at first, but then all of a sudden they kicked up to 75 mph. We had gale force winds for 5 hours. Since we did not get any rain or storms we were able to stay outside and watch the trees and power lines fall to the ground. The sounds and sights were amazing. The power stayed out for 5 long days. the whole town of Granville felt like a ghost town all week. Thanks to Scott's family for letting us come over and take showers and feed us dinner! After one day of cleaning up pine trees, Michael took a bath in the pool to remove all of the sap. The kids were out of school for three days and we helped our neighbors clean up their yards. This is one storm that we will never forget!
